Drift With Me

Another re-vamp! I'm realllllly happy I re-did this one, I was semi-unsatisfied with the original of this drawing, but I really like how it turned out *heart*! This was also for my portfolio (which is still due tomorrow... *sweat*) I wanted to get across the depth of emotion through "masks" to contribute to the idea of masking emotions.

What's in a name?

A re-vamp of my old logo! I re-did this last minute for my portfolio that is due... tomorrow :::::::D! I wanted to create a world within a name with emphasis on the abstract and whimsical.

Fairly old drawing of me and my beau (which, actually, is not pronounced "b-yew." I know you thought it was, but it's not true. I checked on dictionary.com :(! ). Btw, I hate inking sometimes. If you can't tell by the botched job I did on my hand. Unless, it's just a cover for me having blob hands @____@!

Es bonito, no? Ay, la corazon mio. Anyway, I was just having some more fun messing around in photoshop, I'm getting more comfortable with this free hand drawing thing. Based off of doodles done on my notebooks in Anthropology class. Yesterday we watched a video about Orangatanes. WHICH APPARENTLY!!!! Is not pronounced with a "g" on the end. o__________O!? AY DIOS MIOS. Okay, I'm going too crazy on "quotations" and espanol today.

KATAMARA

KATAMARI!!!! This is for a katamari art trade with Hulia and Schnekk <3 I just found out today about it, too. But I was bored in my dorm and felt particularly inspired and I ended up finishing it post-haste! Er.. Forthwith? <__< Against my habits I only used photoshop for this drawing. I no longer have the ability to hand-draw and scan my drawings and it makes me sad :< However, it was sort of refreshing to be able to draw with reckless abandon and not worry about perfection or having three different files of the same drawing (sketch, inked, colored)! :D

Take me anywhere...

Whaaa, I've been drawing so many full body poses lately! I'm so proud of myself. If you could see how feetless all my old drawings were, you'd be proud, too! I went through a whole period where I constantly covered up feet with long pants or had their legs slowly fade into oblivion as the drawing progressed.

And I really like how the pants turned out! I wish I had a pair of pants like that... But with polka dots! *A* Except... My mom kind of ruined it for me when she told me that my drawing sort of looked like a baseball player... *siiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh* Now, I'll never get that image out of my mind, but i'll do my best to maintain my own glorified envisionment of her <3 Besides, most baseball players don't wear high heels. Unless Buffy was a baseball player... OMG NO! "Buffy the Baseball Player" instead of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." It'll be a whole new spin-off.

I really liked this group from my T-shirt design, and I wanted to go into more detail with the colors and play around a bit more with the scene, which turned out to be a lot of fun <3

Yuuusss, I am!

T-shirt design I made for a contest hosted by Cameesa.com for the MMORPG called Ragnarok Online. I had a lot of fun creating this design, I'm not used to drawing full characters so it was exciting to try drawing feet and different poses. I've also never been very good at drawing large groupings of characters eithers so this T-shirt was definitely a challege for me @___@ But it was worth every minute <33

One of my other challenges with this piece was the color scheme. I was only allowed to use eight colors, so it was hard to think of a creative way to make the most out of the colors without seeming neglectful to detail.

Drifting

Messing with hues to try to contribute to the mood of the piece. I really like the effect it has, but I still am really pleased with the original piece as well. I had a lot of fun creating the clouds - to start out i just had the clouds in the background but later I decided to try out having the character himself on a cloud, too. I was particularly inspired by my friends drawing of Pit for how the character seems to be cushioned by the cloud he is on.

I Can't Seem To Remember...

First of all, I realllly wanted to draw one of those noses! They're so cute :@ I'm really happy with how this character turned out. I've started working on my art portfolio, and I've decided that what i want to be my theme is emotion. Expiriencing emotion serves often as inspiration for art or conversely allows the viewer to expirience emotion. What I want is for the viewer to be able to sympathize or empathize, etc, with my work. Maybe they might not completely understand the background of the piece or its inner workings, but on a basic level they can still relate.

In this piece, the character is moving forward, drifting along, carried by the motion of the cloud. But he is still motionless. A metaphor for how he is so caught up in small issues surrounding him that he fails to realize what could still be - he cannot see the bigger picture of what is.

Though you don't know all of his story, can you not sympathize with his pain? Though you may not have similar expiriences can you not understand his feelings?

Also, please critique me on how I can make it better <3

Pompadour

This pair of drawings were done in Paint using my tablet. Fsgfsgfsg :D He's soooo cooooo. I wish I could always hear his English dubbed voice in my head :(!

And yes, he's so cool that his "cool" doesn't need an "l" at the end.

Kuwabara

Greatest character ever! I've finally submitted... I have to admit that I find myself greatly enjoying the cheesy, and definititely not-the-best anime in creation, show my sisters watch all the time: Yu Yu Hakusho. The characters in this show are utterly absurd and constantly make me wince at their dialogue (which is not so bad as some other shows I watch; "I've gotta book!") or at their interestingly chosen voice actors... But I can't deny that I easily relate to the distictly unique humor (I thought I'd bust a gut laughing, George, I really did...) or comedic friendships the characters find themselves in. One of my favorite characters is the one that is easily the most outspoken, unlikeable, obnoxious, unecesarily rediculuous, and pompadour sporting Kuwabara.

So, I wanted to practice drawing people in armor. But after a few sketches I realized that I really suck - and I mean to such an extent that I decided even knights have "casual fridays" sans pantelones. I mean "sans armor." Lol. For some reason talking about "sans ____" reminds me of one of my favorite phrases but I shall refrain from using it...! Portfolio Cover

I had to make a cover for my Culminating Project *sigh* that class is full of so many pointless tasks. But this one was actually pretty fun. I wrote all the text by hand using the calligraphy brushes. I think I'm going to move the "Graphic Design" part though, because there's actually not enough room to write the whole thing it was supposed to say which would beee "Graphic Deisgn Portfolio" haha

I had fun grafiti-ing my face for the second design :P Was trying to make it kinda yearbook-esque

Another WIP :< style="font-family: arial;" Julia to where we each drew someone for a "blind date" without know the gender or appearance of the what the other was creating. It turned out pretty funny xD I was going to try and color it on the computer so it would look nicer when I posted it, but yeah...It didn't end up being a quick coloring job like I thought @__@! So this is what you get instead! Half ass.

Vamp

Re-vamp of an old drawing! I really don't know what inspired me to do this @___@ I think it was schnekk. She told me I should draw a full body pose using the new style I've developed. And this isn't really what she meant but I'm happy with it all the same hehe I really like the shading. Most of it was an accident, too.

I should really draw some girls soon... Otherwise I might forget how to draw boobs all together! *horror film scream*

Dashing

Te veo, mi amor. I had such a hard time drawing this one... Mostly because of the glasses haha And for some reason the ears were really hard to draw, too. I think it was because his head is tilted so it was hard to make them look like they were at the right height! Ahhh and the hair too! I'm not entirely happy with it, but I think it turned out ok. At least now I'm prepped and ready to draw.... IDEALOX ICECUBEZORZ.

I keep deviating from how they are really supposed to look haha but it's just so fun to give them crazy make up and piericings and stuff. But don't worry Anna, I won't do that to yooou..! Maybe ;o

I'm not as happy with this one though T____T... I dunno why. Like, I am... But I'm not at the same time. I like his tux, and his hair turned out alright for how ridiculous it is haha but I dunno, maybe he doesn't seem as unique as Thursday Yak or something...!

I'm feeling blue. Well actually turquoise to be exact. Did you know that when women were asked what color they found most appealing on men, it was turquoise? Que?! Personally, I think black looks very attractive. A black button up, and a nice part of jeans... Nom nom. Anyway! Since I had so much fun with Biden (Oh-ho!) I decided to do another drawing in that style, but this time I took a little more time. I may jazz~ it up later to put in my portfolio.
